Airtel Zambia supports Kuomboka ceremony

Airtel Zambia has contributed K269 million to the organising committee of this year’s Kuomboka traditional ceremony of the Lozi people of Western province, which will take place next week in Mongu. The contribution was made to the ceremony organising committee by the company last week.
Airtel’s corporate communications and public relations officer Lisa Mulozi said traditional ceremonies should be supported because they preserve culture, which helps to boost tourism.
“We believe traditional ceremonies should be supported and preserved as they showcase the fabric of our society and boosts the tourism sector,” Mulozi said.
Mulozi said Airtel has been a proud supporter of the rich Zambian cultural heritage for a number of years now adding that the company would like to reaffirm its commitment to this noble cause.
MTN Zambia is also among the companies that have contributed money to this year’s Kuomboka ceremony that attracts tourism from around the world.
MTN, which has for the past few years been sponsoring the ceremony has this year contributed K100 million.
