Airtel Zambia donates solar equipment to Moono school

By Edith Mwale, Lusaka, Zambia

Airtel Zambia has donated solar equipment worth over USD2,000 to Moono Basic in Mumbwa in a bid to eliminate some of the teaching difficulties being faced by many schools in the country’s rural areas.

The company said in a statement that it is commited to playing its part in uplifting the living standards of the communities in which it operates.

Airtel Zambia managing director Charity Lumpa said the operator will play its part in making sure that all the communities in which the company operates benefit from its corporate social responsibility.

She said: “Airtel has partnered with the Ministry of Education in uplifting the education standards especially in the deprived areas. This is being done under “our school” initiative.”

Over the past years, Airtel Zambia has been helping the Zambian government build schools and providing desks to schools around the country.
