Airtel snaps up Rwandatel masts

New Rwandan player Airtel has bought Rwandatel’s masts as it prepares to compete across the country.

Bharti Airtel, which launched in Rwanda recently, has acquired the GSM masts of defunct operator Rwandatel at a cost of USD15 million.

Rwandatel is under liquidation and its assets are being sold.

Airtel, which officially launched operations in Rwanda two weeks ago, says it will invest around USD100 million on its infrastructure in the country over the next three years.
