Airtel Kenya employees spread Christmas joy
In the spirit of giving and sharing during this festive season, more than 2000 children from various children’s homes in Kenya had a memorable opportunity to celebrate Christmas courtesy of Airtel, a leading telecommunications services provider with over 300 million customers and operations in 20 countries across Africa and Asia.
The company staff members based across the country visited various Children’s homes with an aim of sharing Christmas joy with the young ones. The teams spent some quality time in celebrating Christmas parties and donating various items which include food, gifts such as toys and other daily amenities.
In a statement, Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi thanked the regional team for creating time out of their busy schedules to share Christmas joy with kids which is in line with the Airtel Spirit that encourages a selfless giving of time on both an individual and a corporate level.
“As employees of a responsible corporate entity, we always look for opportunities to touch the lives of people in the community. The spirit of Christmas is in the air, and those most under its spell are the children, who dream of an entertaining experience and favorite gifts. This festive season has given us a special opportunity to reach out to them with memorable Christmas experience," said Adil.
Last week, the company held an early Christmas party for Mogra Rescue Centre’s children in Kiambu County. Staff members from both the Kenya office and Airtel Africa group office treated the children to a festive experience they would remember for times to come. The employees served food, sang Christmas Carols, danced, played games and gave out Christmas gifts to the little ones.
