Airtel extends 3.75G to Tanzania
By Hudson Kazonta, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Tanzania has become the latest African country to launch Airtel 3.75G services.
Airtel Tanzania says its 3.75G mobile platform will provide high speed internet services to customers across the country.
The telco said the higher internet access speeds will allow users to enjoy video calls, high speed downloads and even mobile TV.
The improved technology will enhance mobile internet access and improve multimedia functionality across the country.
Airtel Managing Director Sam Elangalloor says the company remains committed to expanding its network coverage, bringing communication opportunities to rural populations that have previously been left out of the telecommunications revolution.
He said the steady roll-out of 3.75G data networks across all Airtel's markets was in line with its objective of building the largest 3.75G network across the continent.
