Acer steps up MEA commercial focus

Acer Middle East and Africa is renewing its focus on the region’s commercial market, with new products and services and an enhanced channel strategy.

Addressing channel partners at a briefing in South Africa this week, new Acer VP MEA and South Africa Country Manager David Drummond said Acer’s mission this year would be to ‘protect the core’ – its business-focused products and solutions. “While Acer has become a leading consumer brand in South Africa, we aim to improve our standing in the commercial space too; taking commercial business up from around 30% of our sales to around 50% of sales,” he said.

Drummond highlighted Acer’s ‘build your own cloud’ solution, which allows customers to synchronise data across multiple devices in a secure environment, as one compelling new offering for corporate customers.

Acer has also improved its channel benefits, aiming for greater collaboration with channel partners and offering greater support and benefits. Its Synergy partner programme for elite partners delivers significantly improved incentives and rewards, says Acer. Around 425 of its 3000 partners in MEA are classified as Synergy partners.
