4G Smartphone users to enjoy superior and stable internet on Vodafone
Vodafone Ghana says it has upgraded its network to offer unmatched internet experience to customers with 4G and Long Term Evolution (LTE) smartphones in Ghana. This means that Vodafone prepaid and post-paid customers with LTE or 4G enabled smartphones such as; Nokia Lumia series, iPhone 5 series, Samsung Active series and Blackberry Q10, can now enjoy continuous and stable internet connectivity on Ghana’s most reliable network.
The upgrade by Ghana’s second leading telecom operator provides users with faster speeds and lower latency, which indicates an improved overall internet experience for mobile broadband users.
The upgrade will guarantee a faster and more efficient internet experience and is expected to contribute to the development of the country’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) needs with an ultra-fast data services.
In another development, thousands of Ghanaians across the country have benefitted from Vodafone Ghana’s Christmas initiative ‘Make a Wish’, a campaign launched a few weeks to Christmas to make the season exciting and memorable for Ghanaians, by fulfilling their Christmas wishes.
Vodafone gave away items ranging from cooking utensils to electrical appliances, building materials, groceries, clothing and hampers just to mention a few.
Vodafone Ghana also fulfilled the wish of Joshua Addo-Kuffour, a social worker at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital by paying the medical bills for eight needy patients so they could go home and spend the holidays with their families. ‘‘These are patients who have undergone various treatments but cannot leave the hospital because they are unable to pay their medical bills. I am so grateful to Vodafone,” he said.
Seth Oduro, a teacher by profession and widower with two children wanted Vodafone to support him in providing for the elderly in his neighborhood, Begoro in the Eastern region. Seth was overwhelmed when the Vodafone gave him bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of milk and several others to share among the elderly and physically challenged.
Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile, said Vodafone has a long history of supporting communities and ‘Make a Wish’ is one such initiative to give back for the season. “We know that not everyone will get the opportunity to celebrate Christmas cheerfully, so this is our way of making a difference in their lives by bringing smiles into their homes she added”.
Vodafone Ghana received thousands of entries through selected radio stations across the country. The radio stations included Happy FM and OK FM in Greater Accra, Aseda FM in Western Region, Fox FM in Ashanti Region, Ark FM in Brong-Ahafo Region, Lorlornyo in Volta Region, Fiila FM in Northern Region, Life FM in Eastern Region, Sompa in Central Region, Radford Radio in Upper East, and Gurune FM in Upper West.
