TELECOMS
By BiztechAfrica - July 20, 2012, 10:40 a.m.On the back of new 600MBps connectivity delivered to Zambian customers, Zamtel is promising yet more to come.
Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mupanga Mwanakatwe says following the recent completion of its optic fibre connections to WACS and SAT3 through Namibia Telecoms, the telco is in talks with other neighbouring countries for additional connectivity.
This, he says, is in line with Zamtel’s strategy of having multiple entry points.
In addition, Zamtel is planning to introduce additional value added services in the near future, said Dr. Mwanakatwe. “Zamtel is planning to increase capacity on its fixed internet broadband on ADSL in order to cater for everyone who has a landline at home as a short to medium term solution, the long term solution being Fiber To The Home,” he said.
