Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data centre and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced its Comstor business unit has appointed Cisco veteran Andreas Dohmen as Executive Vice President for EMEA.

The move further entrenches Comstor as the market's premier global distributor of Cisco technology, services and solutions.

With more than 10 years of his career dedicated to Cisco-focused international channel sales and business operations, Dohmen served as both the company's Vice President of Worldwide Business Operations and Vice President of Commercial Business in Europe.  He also brings to Comstor a broad range of international management experience – leading operational and strategic sales, marketing and business development, business segmentation planning, and development and restructuring of organizations.

"Comstor has aggressively built a reputation as the market's 'go-to' Cisco distributor.  One reason is the quality and experience of the management team we've been fortunate enough to recruit," said Dean Douglas, President and CEO, Westcon Group.  "Andreas brings with him a deep understanding of what's necessary for partners to effectively develop new revenue streams leveraging Cisco's award-winning technology.  We are pleased to have Andreas on board and look forward to his help in reaching our next stage of growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa."

Prior to Cisco, Dohmen held leadership positions at both Alcatel and Siemens.  At Comstor, he will manage all of the company's Cisco business, reporting directly to Comstor President Jon Pritchard.  Dohmen is tasked with growing Comstor's presence in the fast-growing EMEA market – nurturing existing relationships and creating new partner opportunities across the region.

"During my career, I've had the pleasure of working with Comstor on many occasions.  I never cease to be amazed at their dedication and focus on partners – backed by an in-depth understanding of Cisco technology and business strategy," saidAndreas Dohmen, Executive Vice President EMEA, Comstor.  "I'm excited to now be serving alongside this top-notch team and believe we can achieve great things together in the months and years to come."

Dohmen served for five years in the German Armed Forces.  He also holds degrees in economics and nuclear physics.
