Vodafone Ghana CEO urges African SMEs to embrace technology as a key enabler

Vodafone Ghana Chief Executive Officer Haris Broumidis has urged local entrepreneurs to embrace technology as the only platform that can help their businesses to grow, saying he believes Vodafone offers a unique technology platform to give impetus to businesses.
Mr. Broumidis is of the view that for businesses to stay ahead of the competition and solidify its position with the provision of real time solutions for customers, small scale businesses should adopt and deploy technology- related business solutions.
Addressing the 2015 edition of the Vodafone SMEs Summit on the theme ‘Dreaming Africa’ in Accra, Mr. Broumidis disclosed that Vodafone Ghana, as one of the most respected brands in the country, was able to achieve its current status due to strict adherence the key business principles which include rationalization, innovation, transformation of human resource capacity and prudent investment measures.
According to him, Vodafone Ghana has been able to empower millions of Ghanaians and also provides a one stop shop business solutions to small and medium scale enterprises thus assisting them with the right technological tools to maximize their output.
The three-day Vodafone SMEs Summit leads discussions to challenge African and Ghanaian SME executives to dream big and grow their businesses into global giants. It also looks at the environmental constraints to SMEs and businesses in general and makes recommendations to policy makers on how to improve the ease of doing business.
The event which attracted over 250 business owners, government officials and students from Ghana and about 15 countries in Africa offered a platform for SMEs to learn from major industry players and also understand business growth essentials.
