Botswana Innovation Hub is a Company Limited by Guarantee and owned by the Government of Botswana. The key objective of the Company is to develop a Science and technology Park with a key focus on technology-driven and knowledge-intensive businesses.

Microsoft Corporation is a US multinational that develops, manufactures, licences and supports a wide range of products and services related to Information and communication Technologies.

The Botswana Innovation Hub and Microsoft are entering into a strategic collaboration to establish a Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) in Botswana. The Microsoft innovation Centre is a state of the art technology facility for collaboration on innovative research, technology or software solutions, involving a combination of government, academic and industry participants. MIC Botswana’s main pillars will be IT skills training and job creation, IT Industry engagement targeting software start-ups, training programmes are independent software vendors (ISVs) and system integrators.

As a consequence to this, a vacancy has arisen for a dynamic individual to manage the centre

Main purpose of the job

To develop and execute the MIC marketing plan within the available resources, to be accountable for the overall sustainability of the Centre and to ensure that different training programmes are delivered against targets. Furthermore, the manager will be expected to create new programs in line with Centre brand to address the requirements of the primary market and develop performance criteria for the accreditation of various programmes.

This is a demanding job and will require the successful candidate to be:

1.             Able to multi-task in a busy environment

2.             Self-motivated and able to meet targets under minimal supervision

3.             A person who pays attention to detail

Qualifications and Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in ICT or Business degree in other relevant field of study

·         Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Enterprise Admin

·         Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD)

·         Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT)

·         Cisco Certified network Associate (CCNA)

·         Demonstrated experience in a busy instruction environment with increasing responsibility over 5 years

·         At least 3-5 years’ experience supervising a team of ICT professionals

·         Experience in marketing and/or business development

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 Terms of Employment

  This will be an initial three year contract with a possibility for renewal.

 Remuneration

 A competitive market related total remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Only candidates who meet the above requirements need to apply.
