Two weeks to repair Seacom outage
Seacom has reported a “service affecting outage” in the Mediterranean between Abu Talat in Egypt and Marseilles in France.
The company says the repairs are expected to take approximately two weeks.
It says in a statement: “The repair vessel has been notified of the callout and mobilisation will occur once the necessary permits are received.”
However, Seacom said it had now added substantial restoration capacity to the network and by late afternoon Tuesday would have restored approximately 85% of its customers’ required services on alternate routes.
Seacom said it was monitoring the situation closely and would provide customer updates regularly.
