Two arrested for SIM fraud

By BiztechAfrica - April 27, 2012, 12:29 p.m.As Nigeria’s House of Representatives prepares to investigate SIM card fraud, the regulator has arrested two people over this offence.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said it had arrested two people for allegedly selling activated SIM cards illegally in Osun State.
The NCC’s Head of Enforcement, Efosa Idehen, said the Commission had received reports of a syndicate engaging in illegal SIM card activation.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives says it will set up an ad hoc committee to investigate SIM card registration fraud.
