Seacom cable repaired

Seacom reports that its cable break in the Mediterranean has been repaired.

The company had reported a “service affecting outage” in the Mediterranean between Abu Talat in Egypt and Marseilles in France. 

Seacom predicted it would take two weeks to repair.

The company says in a statement that Seacom’s Mediterranean partner network cable repair has been successfully completed.

Seacom had moved its customers onto alternate capacity and is now scheduling a non-service affecting maintenance window to move them back onto its core network.

The statement says Seacom is monitoring the situation closely.
