Rising Stars underway in Zambia

The Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) football tournament is now underway in all the 10 provinces of Zambia with over 6,000 under-17 players fighting for 18 slots in their respective provinces.
This year’s tournament, which has also attracted girls, kicked off at district level before moving to the provincial level.
In the country’s capital Lusaka, the event took place at the National Sports Development Centre with over 2,000 players in attendance.
Airtel and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) have partnered to stage this year’s event.
The Airtel Raising Stars soccer talent programme aims to identify and nurture budding soccer talent from the grassroots onto a national stage.
The second season of the programme-which follows a hugely successful inaugural year-provides a platform for the upcoming soccer talent under the age of seventeen to showcase their skills to leading scouts and coaches, giving them an opportunity to further their football skills.
