Pivot East apps finalists named

Pivot East has announced the 25 final finalists in the Pivot East regional mobile apps competition.
This year’s theme was “Innovation and Enterprise” and the following topics are to be used to expound on the theme:
• Opportunities of entrepreneurship in the East Africa Region
• Financing challenges in the regional technological scene
• Role of corporate in stimulating innovation
• Social impact and the Social enterprise
• Role of innovation in driving the regional economy
Pivot East is described as this year’s edition of the region’s premier mobile apps / developer competition held successfully in 2011 under the name Pivot 25.
A panel of judges drawn from industry in the last two weeks extensively analysed details of 50 semi-finalists of the Pivot East regional mobile apps competition. The process culminated in the selection of 25 applications which will be pitched at this year’s Pivot East conference. The conference will be at Ole Sereni Hotel on 5th and 6th of June 2012 where five category winners will get USD10,000 each in prize money.
