Philips roadshow heads for Zambia

The Philips Electronics Cairo to Cape Town roadshow is set to pass through Zambia next week.

The road shows covers 12,000km and  is raising awareness of Philips’ healthcare and lighting solutions across Africa.

In Kenya, Philips launched a pilot to showcase solar powered LED street lighting in Nairobi and partnered with the Kenyan Ministry of Medical Services to launch an ultrasound project.

In Nigeria, the company announced that it was appointing a dedicated business development manager in the country to drive ongoing collaboration with local health care authorities. New health initiatives and solar powered LED lighting systems were also provided to institutions in Ghana, Morocco and Egypt.

Ronald de Jong, EVP and Chief Market Leader at Philips, said: “We are committed to building a long-term sustainable footprint in Africa. Our ambition is to gain a strong presence in this continent by building on local talent and organisations, setting up distribution and route to market and above all, by developing solutions and innovations which are relevant for local needs.”

The road show is visiting Zambia for the second time and will visit Lusaka from 17  – 19  July.
