Nigeria orders power probe

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji, has ordered an investigation into a series of power system failures.
Nnaji has instructed the head of the Transmission Company of Nigeria to fully investigate the causes of last week’s system failures.
Nigeria is frequently hit by power failures, report residents, with the Lagos area suffering the worst outages.
The government is seeking to address the problem, and recently signed a USD10 billion deal with General Electric on the construction of a series of power plants.
