Nigeria’s NigComSat-1R satellite is scheduled to launch full commercial service this week.
The satellite, which was launched in December, is a hybrid geostationary satellite with total of 40 transponders, designed to provide optimal and cost effective voice, data, video, internet and application services solutions.
It is seen as a critical ICT backbone infrastructure to drive a Nigerian ICT revolution.
After the successful launch, it underwent rigorous testing and is expected to be ready for use this week.
