New mobile money service launched in Zambia
Zamtel has launched a mobile money solution called Zamtel Kwacha, which is aimed at bringing convenience and adding value to the lives of customers.
Speaking at the launch in Lusaka, Zambia’s Minister of Transport and Communication Honorable Brian Mushimba said the government supported the expansion of financial services in remote parts of the country and encouraged the public to use modern platforms such as Zamtel Kwacha in their day to day transactions. The Bank of Zambia Governor, Danny Kalyalya, welcomed the new digital financial service, which he hoped would contribute to financial inclusion.
The Accountant General, The Secretary to the Treasury, Chief Executive Officers from numerous organizations and Zamtel Kwacha Agents also attended the launch of the new indigenous mobile money solution.
