Zamtel has announced a new management team, expected to revitalise the company.

The Zambian telco, which has been embroiled in a wrangle over LAP Green’s purchase of a 75% share, had its board dissolved when the government took over its operations earlier this year.

Zamtel  said in unveiling its new top management team that the new team is “expected to help realise the company’s corporate goals and bring a new breath of fresh ideas and vigour to the nation’s sole total communications solutions provider.”

Among the new appointments are Chairman and CEO Dr Mupanga Mwanakatwe, a former technical director at Celtel; chief marketing officer Evans Muhanga, a former Airtel marketing director; Chief Sales and Distribution Manager Lho-Zindaba Sakala, the former marketing manager for Telecel Zambia, Chief Financial Officer Nchimunya Hachandi, Chief Human Resources andAdministration Officer Mooka Silumbu, Chief Technical Officer Sydney Mupeta and Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer Leya Ngoma.
