MTN warns against birthday SMS

By BiztechAfrica - July 30, 2012, 12:24 p.m.MTN Nigeria has warned subscribers not to fall for an SMS scam that encourages them to send multiple SMSes.
MTN said: ”We are aware of an SMS going around asking people to resend a birthday message to 15 friends and win 750 naira credit from MTN. The message is not from MTN Nigeria and we urge you to ignore it.”
Scores of subscribers said they had received such SMSes.
