MOBILE
By BiztechAfrica - March 6, 2012, 10:39 a.m.Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) says is it facing a series of challenges in its plan to roll out 4G services in Namibia.
The telco, which recently celebrated its two million customer milestone, wants to upgrade its infrastructure in order to add 4G services to its offering.
However, its applications to contruct its own metro fibre ring were initially challenged by Telecom Namibia, and have now been delayed in the Windhoek City Council.
The Council has deferred a decision on allowing MTC to install fibre optic cable ducts underground in the city. MTC says it is also awaiting a commercial frequency licence.
