Microsoft unveils tablet PCs
Microsoft has unveiled its own version of the tablet PC. Named the Surface, the two new tablet PCs have been conceived, designed and engineered entirely by Microsoft.
The surface tablets feature slim VaporMG casings with built-in kickstands and pressure sensitive touch covers that protect the screen and allow for faster touch typing.
One model will run an ARM processor featuring Windows RT, and one will gave a third-generation Intel Core processor featuring Windows 8 Pro. Surface for Windows RT will release with the general availability of Windows 8 and the Windows 8 Pro model will be available about 90 days later. Both will have USB 2.0 ports, microSD slots, feature microHD video and 2x2 MIMO antennae. They will be available with 32GB or 64GB storage, with 128GB available for the Windows 8 Pro version.
Suggested retail pricing has not been announced yet.
