Maroc Telecom slips in Morocco, gains elsewhere

By BiztechAfrica - July 26, 2012, 10:06 a.m.Maroc Telecom has reported a 5.3% decline in revenues in Morocco, offset by a 21% increase in its other markets.
In its report for the first six months of the year, the telco noted strong growth in turnover (+21%), operating profit (+50%) and customer base (+37%) from its international operations.
However, revenues in Morocco dropped 5.3%, which the company attributed to persistent price cuts in the mobile segment.
The Group’s customer base showed growth of 13.7%, to over 31 million.
