MapIT buys stake in SatNav East Africa

By BiztechAfrica - May 6, 2012, 7:12 a.m.Digital mapping and LBS firm MapIT has taken shares worth USD2.1 million in SatNav East Africa, in a move expected to improve the reach and services of both.
SatNav East Africa chief executive Vincent Okema said MapIT would boost his firm’s expansion drive in East Africa, providing improved digital mapping and technical support across six East African countries.
mapIT’s integrated digital mapping solutions cover 104 countries and territories and 34.8 million kilometres of road globally, including 10 countries and 1.7m kilometers of coverage in southern Africa.
