Lottery authorities target new Vodafone game
Ghana’s National Lotteries Authority is seeking to stop Vodafone from continuing its ‘More Money’ competition.
The competition offers total prizes of GHC1.75 million in cash and airtime, with one winner set to take home GHC 100,000.
However, the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) has filed a suit against Vodafone to stop the game, which is deemed a game of chance.
It also wants the Gaming Commission of Ghana to stop issuing permits to organizations to run such games.
Earlier, mobile operators Tigo and Airtel were also ordered to stop running similar competitions.
