The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority, in collaboration with rLG Communications Limited Ghana, has presented 1000 rLG laptops to the three campuses on the University of Development Studies (UDS) at a well attended ceremony in Bolgatanga in the Northern Region.

The occasion which was graced by the Vice President of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, was first to fulfill the Government’s promise to empower Savannah Accelerated Development Authority with funds to propel developmental projects in the three northern regions of the country and to equip university students with the necessary ICT tools and skills to enter the job market.

The managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, who also doubles as the chairman of SADA, made the presentation on behalf of the authority to the UDS Council, and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the laptops to develop research on the three campuses so that the objective of the accelerated development of three northern zones would be achieved.

rLG a local laptop mobile phone assembling company is in the forefront of bringing ICT to the doorsteps of Ghanaians.

The company is partnering the Ministry of Education and the National Youth and Employment Program in an on going initiative to facilitate access to ICT nationwide.

The programme was launched recently during which some 5000 rLG laptop computers were distributed to schools across the country. The last initiative of the laptop assembling company is one in which the physical challenged people are trained in mobile phone and laptop repairs. The first batch of physically challenged peeople is already undergoing the training programme.
