Kenyan elected to head Universal Postal Union

The former Postmaster General of the Postal Corporation of Kenya has been elected to head the global postal body.
Bishar Hussein, a former ambassador and postal executive, who served as chairman of the UPU’s Council of Administration from 2009-2012, will take over as Director General of the Universal Postal Union in January 2013. He will serve for a period of four years.
He was elected during the 25th UPU Congress in Doha this week.
