By BiztechAfrica - Jan. 4, 2012, 9:07 a.m.Kenya looks unlikely to meet its self-imposed deadline of switching to digital broadcasting by mid-year.
Kenya had set June 2012 as its deadline to complete digital migration – three years ahead of the deadline set by the ITU.
The process has suffered several delays, including funding hiccups.
However, despite millions having been allocated to expedite the process, the analogue infrastructure overhaul is far from complete.
The CCK’s acting director general, Francis Wangusi, is reported to have said the switch may not even happen by year end.
