John Atta Mills dies

Ghana’s President, John Evans Atta Mills, has died.
The President’s office said in a statement that the 68-year-old President had taken ill late on Monday. He died at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Tuesday afternoon.
The statement said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the President of the Republic of Ghana."
The President was reported to have been suffering from throat cancer. No further details were available. Tributes are already streaming in to the late President's facebook page and on Twitter at #RIPMills.
Vice President John Dramani Mahama was sworn in as President yesterday evening.
