ICT services to surge in emerging markets
BUSINESS
By BiztechAfrica - July 16, 2012, 12:18 p.m.A new report by Pyramid Research says ICT services will be an important growth area in emerging markets, as mobile, cloud and data grow in these regions.
”In developed markets IT services can account for around 75% of total ICT expenditure,” says Pyramid Research Analyst at Large, Jan ten Sythoff.
“In emerging markets, this tends to be below 50% because of low PC penetration and much lower use of outsourcing. With the value of mobile broadband and data services increasing because of the availability of cloud services, Pyramid expects that this will be an important growth area across many emerging markets, as it is in developed markets.”
“More communications and applications will become available across smartphone, tablet and computing devices, driving productivity and collaboration and thus spending on mobile data access. “With low latency and higher speed, LTE technology will be highly complementary and an important driver,” he adds.
