Huawei funds Angolan ICT centre

Chinese ICT giant Huawei has financed the building of an ICT Training Centre at Angola’s Technological Training Centre in Angola.
The centre, including eight classrooms and a laboratory, was opened in Luanda last week.
Speaking at the opening, the chairman of the board of directors at Angola’s Instituto Angolano das Comunicações (INACOM), Pedro Mendes de Carvalho, said Angola was one of the world’s fastest-growing ICT economies.
He said the courses to be offered at the centre would benefit all stakeholders.
He noted that Angola’s ICT strategy was now in its second phase – aiming to strengthen its market structure; with phase three – consolidation of African leadership and customer focus – the strategy from 2015.
