Minister of Communication Haruna Iddrisu

Ghana’s Cabinet has approved policies and a roadmap to switch to digital TV by 2014.

However, the government is optimistic that it can complete the switch ahead of schedule.

The Minister of Communications, Haruna Iddrisu, told a workshop on Digital Switchover and Spectrum Harmonisation in Accra that the government would begin a concerted campaign to start rolling out nationwide Digital terrestrial TV next year.

He said it was expected that the switchover to digital TV could be completed by 2013.
