GOVERNMENT
By BiztechAfrica - May 15, 2012, 9:36 a.m.Phone users in Gambia have been warned that unregistered SIM cards will be switched off on June 15.
The country’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has warned that any SIMs not registered by the June 15 deadline will be blocked.
The director general of PURA, Abdoulie Jobe, called on phone users to register their SIM cards in the remaining few weeks before the cut-off date.
In a last-ditch effort to ensure all SIMs are registered, PURA is staging a SIM registration tour in remote regions of the country.
