CAMEROON
By BiztechAfrica - July 25, 2012, 8:53 a.m.The new MVNO owned by footballer Samuel Eto’o is up and running in Cameroon.
Set’Mobile, under Telecom Eto’o, announced late last year, has now activated its SIM cards.
The new company repackages services hosted on the Orange Cameroon network. It announced this week that its SIM cards can now be activated at its headquarters in the Rue des Manguiers, Bali.
As enthusiastic subscribers crowded the company’s offices, Telecom Eto’o CEO Charles Gueret said activation priority would be given to subscribers who had already purchased their SIM cards. The company said more than 1,000 people had gone to activate their SIMs on Monday morning, when the service officially launched.
