Ethiopian Prime Minister to be laid to rest today

By BiztechAfrica - Sept. 2, 2012, 7:39 a.m.African dignitaries and thousands of Ethiopian citizens have gathered in Addis Ababa for the funeral of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi today.
The Prime Minister died last month at the age of 57.
Among the dignitaries to attend the funeral are Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who this weekend paid his respects at the Grand Palace, where he signed the condolence book and laid a wreath by casket where the late Prime Minister lay in state.
Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, Benin President Boni Yayi and Sudan's President, Omar al-Bashir, were also among the leaders to pay their respects this weekend. Several officials from the US, Europe and China are expected to attend the funeral.
