Ethiopia to award USD1.3bn deal to Chinese firms

Ethiopia will award a telecoms contract, expected to be worth around USD1.3 billion, to Huawei and ZTE.
Ethiopian Communication and Information Technology Minister, Debretsion Gebremichael, said this week that his Ministry would sign a two-year deal with on the Huawei and ZTE within the next two weeks.
ZTE said earlier this year that is was bidding jointly with Huawei on the government contract. The project details have not been released yet.
