GOVERNMENT
By BiztechAfrica - Aug. 26, 2012, 9:34 a.m.Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Hany Mahmoud, has visited the 6th of October main Post Office and its e-archiving centre to follow up on restoration efforts there.
During the visit, the Minister expressed concern about disruptions in work at the e-archive centre.
The e-archive centre manager explained that the centre’s operations had suffered as a result of a fire that occurred during the revolution. He explained that employees had saved as much archive content as they could, with a great deal of the data also stored digitally.
Mahmoud said new premises were being built, and that archive material would be stored in Nasr City until the new offices were ready.
