Egypt proposes 23 new ICT initiatives

By BiztechAfrica - March 11, 2012, 9:20 a.m.Egypt has proposed 23 ICT initiatives and a regional project at the ITU’s Connect Arab Summit in Qatar.
Egypt’s minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohamed Salem, said Egypt had launched a number of initiatives representing a practical framework for regional ICT cooperation.
These included an Arabic digital content initiative, child online security initiative, Memory of the Arab world project, Arab ICT indicators portal, MasrWorks project and partnership projects.
During the Summit, Dr. Salem met with his counterpart in the Republic of Northern Sudan, Mohamed Abdul-Karim, for talks on enhanced cooperation between the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Egypt and its Northern Sudanese counterpart.
Dr. Salem also met with the Algerian minister of Post and Telecommunications, Moussa Ben Hammadi, where they discussed cooperation between the two countries.
