Econet claims 90% business market share

By BiztechAfrica - Sept. 28, 2012, 2:01 p.m.Zimbabwe’s Econet says it has now captured more than 90% of Zimbabwe’s business market, including major parastatals, and even some government departments.
Group commercial head George Barbaressos says the company has seen significant growth, thanks in part to its innovation and investment into infrastructure.
“To secure the business market Econet has deployed a powerful set of tools over and above voice services to the business community. The company has invested heavily, including nearly USD100 million in fibre optic systems,” he says.
Barbaressos says most companies now have a direct link into Econet's own switching centres and fibre links. Econet has even gone as far as providing financing for companies that need to upgrade their corporate IT systems, he says.
