Comment invited on Leo acquisition
BUSINESS
By BiztechAfrica - Jan. 18, 2012, 2:02 p.m.Namibia’s Competition Commission (NaCC) has invited written submissions on a proposed merger between Powercom and Telecom Namibia.
Last week, the Commission noted that the news of a Telecom Namibia takeover of Powertel’s Leo Telecom was premature, since the acquisition had not yet been approved by both the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (Cran) and the competition commission.
In a notice to the public published in the local media, the NaCC said the closing date for submissions on the deal is January 25.
