Cashless Nigeria strategy under discussion

By BiztechAfrica - July 9, 2012, 7:04 a.m.The Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) National Conference this month will focus on re-strategising for a cashless society.
The 24th annual NCS conference, to be held at theLe Meridien Ibom Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from 25 to 27 July, will focus on the tools and strategies for a cashless Nigeria. This is in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s efforts to reduce the amount of cash in circulation and with it, reduce money laundering and other economic crimes.
In keeping with the theme, the NCS conference itself will be cashless, with online and card payments for delegates.
The event will focus on issues such as IP rights, innovative hardware and software tools, security and law enforcement, e-government and infrastructure development.
