Cameroon clears way for third operator

By BiztechAfrica - June 4, 2012, 9:01 a.m.Cameroon’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has invited expressions of interest for the country’s third mobile operator licence. The licence will include a 3G licence.
Currently, MTN and Orange operate in Cameroon’s mobile market.
Applicants must be internationally reputable, not already operating in Cameroon, and must have equity of at least USD200 million.
A shortlist of bidders is scheduled to be drawn up by 20 July.
