BPR now Visa accredited

Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR) has introduced Visa payments, a move it expects to boost its progress towards a cashless society.

BPR’s Visa certification will allow clients to transact on other banks’ ATMs, as well as allowing foreign travelers to use BPR ATMs with their Visa cards.

BPR CEO Herman Klaassen, says the bank expects the penetration of electronic payment systems to grow significantly, as businesses and customers move to cashless transactions.

The bank has also introduced mobile banking and recently announced that all its branches were now fully automated and connected.
