President Boni Yayi

Benin’s regulator, the Telecoms Regulatory Authority, has presented a plan to combat cyber crime to the President.

Following a meeting with President Boni Yayi earlier this month, the regulator has drafted a plan to combat the steady increase in cyber crime.

The document will be reviewed by the Council of Ministers, and a forum will be held in three months’ time to harmonise the views of stakeholders and coordinate policy in the fight against cybercrime.

The eradication plan includes the establishment of an anti-cyber crime coordination centre.
