Service providers in the mobile industry have called for closer collaboration between professionals in the banking and ICT sectors to maximize the use of ICTs.
A Mobile Monday Event hosted by the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT in Accra saw stakeholders discussing bureaucracy and a lack of collaboration in these sectors.
They were speaking at “Mobile Monday Ghana,” part of a series of networking and dialogue sessions.
The Centre, described as Africa’s first advanced ICT institute, works to stimulate the growth of the ICT sector. The centre also hosts West Africa’s first supercomputer and hosts conferences and training.
Mobile Monday also discussed “Hei-Julor,” a new security application and included talks by Jerry Coleman, MD of TextGenesys on the convergence of mobile banking and mobile money services, and a discussion on Ghana’s mobile scorecard.
