AU heads of state meet on roadmap

By BiztechAfrica - Feb. 20, 2012, 11:05 a.m.African Union heads of state met in Benin this weekend to discuss a roadmap and strategic plans for the region.
The two-day African Union heads of state consultation was convened by the President Boni Yayi of Benin, the current Chair of the AU.
Thirteen African Presidents attended the closed meeting in Cotonou to discuss a road map for the AU for the next year, as well as the management of strategic partnerships between Africa and the rest of the world.
The meeting dealt with, among other issues, capacity building within the AU, continental economic integration and political unity.
