Altech names new COO

Altech has appointed Laurence Savage as COO with effect from next January.

The position has been vacant since the beginning of this year, after former Telkom CEO Jeffrey Hedberg resigned.

Altech CEO Craig Venter said: “Savage’s experience globally, his knowledge of the African continent, as well as his educational background and leadership ability make him a perfect fit for the role of COO, given the group’s offering and its future plans.”

Savage was previously MD of Genrec Engineering and Hall Longmore, as well as CE at Avis Fleet Services, where he was responsible for the entire Southern Africa cluster.

“We are convinced that Savage will offer insights that will further bolster the Altech management team as we move the group towards sustainable growth,” adds Venter.
