3G issues persist in Swaziland

Having waited years for 3G, users in Swaziland have yet to benefit fully from the technology.
MTN, the only operator in Swaziland, says its long-delayed 3G network is still sluggish due to a lack of bandwidth.
Reports from the kingdom say that the new 3G network is slow. An MTN Swaziland spokesman is quoted as saying the reasons for this include a lack of bandwidth allocated by the Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) and the fact that infrastructure upgrades are still underway.
MTN’s 3G network finally launched in October last year after a lengthy license application process.
The company is also testing a mobile money platform which could be introduced in the near future.
